Could this be a virus? I separated the pup from main plant this spring and then failed to bump it up to a larger pot. Other than the variegation, it seems healthy. Thumb of 2010-08-26/Bubbles/05eb4e

OK, first question is - how old is that leaf? Did it just emerge or has it been out for a while and other normal leaves followed? I see this sometimes on Alocasias that are stressed - usually one leaf comes out like that and if the stress is corrected, the next leaves come out fine.

IMHO, If it is a virus, it is not the really nasty one that would distort the leaf as well as discoloring it.

It's been out a while. Not sure how long, tho. The other leaves are starting to look like that also. It's in a pot, but sitting in a bigger pot that I haven't transplanted it to. I guess I just need to repot it and soon. it's probably stressed as you suggest. Thanks for response. I have quite a few Colocasias and Alocasias that I wouldn't want to lose if it was a virus.
