That is how I felt about my fasciated Sedum 'Silver Stone'.
It will happen.

Still alive and keeps sending out normal stems which I pinch off.

1-7-15 can't tell it has grown much except on the longer curlicue end. It is fuller on that end.

I find that the crested forms of sedum seem to be much slower growing that the contributing plant.
It has taken my crested 'Silver Stone' a very long time to gain some size.

UPDATE didn't survive.

Oh what a bummer. And it looked like it was well rooted.

out pulling handfuls today and just happened to look down and saw this. Pallidum must be prone to producing odd stems. This one is from some planted in one of my sedum beds, much bigger in ground/ soil than a pot. I call Pallidum invasive. Pulled off normal stems and potted up hoping it will stay deformed :whistling:. Has good long root.

Inspecting sedum for strange stems is something I find myself doing lately.
