If you use a google spreadsheet for keeping track of your plants, here is a hyperlink that you can use to search the APT database.

=HYPERLINK("http://garden.org/plants/search/text.php?q="&(Substitute(SUBSTITUTE(B332," ","+"),"'","")),"ATP")

In my sheet, cell B332 is the Binomial nomenclature of the plant, genus species 'cultivar'

For example Cornus alba 'Elegantissima' or Dahlia 'A La Mode'

Clicking on this hyperlink in your spreadsheet will bring up the ATP database page of the plant in question.

I find it very handy.
