We are trying to green up our office. Very large room with no windows, no natural light. Just fluorescent lighting. So far we just have some Parlor Palms, pothos, and snake plant. I really love Prayer plants, Maranta leuconeura. But I wonder if this type of lighting will be okay. Can someone advise?

And if not perhaps offer some suggestions.

I grow a couple of Aglaonema (Chinese Evergreen): http://garden.org/plants/brows... indoors with artificial light (lamps). We do have windows but they have that film to keep the heat out and it sure blocks most of the natural light, making the house quite dark. Two of my Aglaonema plants have been sitting in a dark corners for many months without any issues.

Any indoor plant will appreciate being moved outside at some point for a bit of fresh air and perhaps a flush with a garden hose. Maybe in spring they could be taken home for a weekend getaway.

I believe a 'Prayer Plant' would be fine with office lighting. I'd recommend a humidity tray though as they appreciate higher humidity than your "average" houseplants.
