Greg, I might be able to help you with Expect Wonder, and Expose. Expose is a slow increaser though so I'll have to wait and see on that one. Remind me in the spring. Bruhaha is one I need to think about getting, although I got Celebratory last year, and it's a lot like it only maybe more ruffled. I guess I didn't know that there was a varigated form of Expect Wonders.

Sounds like you guys in Calif, have a nice spring trip planned. Not too much wine now! Hilarious!

Euphorbia from hell? My son brought some home as clippings from a landscaping job. We have other things that some folks think are from hell, but are no problem in zone 5b. They do their job and don't spread crazily - like Vinca and Bishop's Weed. Hmmmm, I will see if the Euphorbia gets aggressive. Right now, I have a little bit at a low rocked-in garden next to the crushed rock driveway. The rest is in the basement with my son's willow and dogwood cuttings.

I don't see anything from my "have" list on anyone's "want" list, except Sea Power and I only have one - none to share until 2016. Keep an eye on my SBDs. Maybe some will have shot some thumbs by next fall. I noticed Dee had been looking for Melanie Baither. I have 5 of those, but they were much trimmed and little from an entangled clump I got at the swap this year from the hybridizer, Warren Hazelton. They should get chunky enough to spare one or two in 2015.

We have a few hybridizers in the Maine Iris Society. Smiling It is possible I will get some cool new stuff!

I have a couple of Euphorbias that are horribly invasive here. E. cyparissias has seductively sweet honey-scented flowers in the spring, but spreads by underground runners all year long.. It gets into everything. Last winter I dug most of it up, but it has very fine roots that break off the main ones and re-grow. Here it is with 'Hello Darkness'
Thumb of 2014-11-02/Henhouse/eb7b6c

The other one is Euphorbia robbiae which is great for dry shade, but has spread like a mow foe Smiling ... A couple years ago I was digging some up that had spread into the gravel walk, and got some of it's sap in my eye. I was in agony and had to wait an hour for Dave to drive through traffic to take me to the Dr. The pain was right up there with childbirth. Crying

Hmmm! I'll take your word about the pain, Sherry, even though I have had no experience in you "comparison" Sticking tongue out ! It sounds like Euphorbia is one that I DON"T want ! Bishop's Weed may not be bad in 5b, Linnea...but it's a "bugger" in 5a ! As are Shasta Daisies, and Yarrow !

Might be invasive Sherry -- but it sure is a pretty color combo with that black Iris!!

This is a picture of Caramaba, I think the picture is prettier than the iris, not a lot but somewhat.

The thing about *random* Tom -- is that it can't be a list, you see. It has to be spontaneous. It has to be a momentary abandonment of common sense. It's got to be a sudden, blinding flash of *I have GOT to have that Iris -- no matter the cost*. See what I mean? And then -- of course -- you can't spend shipping money on JUST one Iris, so you have to begin selecting shipping partners. It's really not a bad system, all things considered........................ "abandonment of common sense"....That's *never* happened to me at an Iris sale, or when I'm looking through a catalog on line... Rolling on the floor laughing

There are a number of iris groups on facebook. I spent a couple of hours looking at iris from France today! Yikes, my list grows.
