I was given a container of mixed succulents and sedums. Two of them are budded and I'd love to know their names. This is the first:

Pretty, and it looks like you're going to have a bloom opening soon! I don't know succulents well but there are a couple of Pachyveria listed in the database: http://garden.org/plants/searc...

Hmm. Those photos (in the database) aren't quite convincing enough. I'll try taking another shot or two of it tomorrow and see if that helps. Also, when it blooms that might help too.

Here is another picture that might be a bit better. It was suggested this might be Pachyveria. That looks pretty close to me; does anyone see any signs it is not Pachyveria?

When the blooms open they might help with the ID.

I am rarely ever right about succulents, but it reminds me of a Graptosedum.

That was suggested, in the Sedum forum, that it might be Graptoverium "Fred Ives" but the leaves, while they have similar coloring, are shaped differently, so, I don't think so. But, thanks! The more eyes on this, the better, I figure.

Oops. I see you suggested Graptosedum and I guess that's different, but again, the leaves aren't quite right.

I have a bloom. Haven't looked at pictures of pachyveria yet, but that's next.

Tarev, does the plant look familiar to you?

It could be a Graptoveria hybrid, the flowers match those on the first link, and there are some which have leaves that look the same shape. Unless you can match the leaf shape to a plant with flowers the same it's impossible to say anything for sure and even if you can it's not certain, there must be a lot of hybrids.

More photos for comparison:

Graptoveria (XGraptoveria 'Opalina')
Graptoveria (XGraptoveria 'Titubans')

I agree with JR ... with so many hybrids on the market, it may be very difficult to get an exact ID.

Thank you all very much. I see (and I am learning a lot, so thanks to you and to the plant!) that Echeveria is definitely implicated, whether this is one of those, a Graptoveria, or a Pachyveria. I have now seen pictures of all three that *could* be the same as this one, given variations in cultivation (my plant is not able to get enough sun right now so is becoming a bit leggy and losing some of the pink blush.)

So, I guess it remains an unanswered question, but at least narrowed down a bit.

Thank You!

Have you searched the Graptopetalum varieties? There are some that look like yours.
