The new Edmunds' catalog arrived in the mail today. Lady Sadie appeals to me. It's a new Weeks rose, honoring the late Sadie Jauch on her 106th birthday! It's a floribunda with a fruity fragrance. The blooms are yellow with pink edges. I love pink and yellow as a combination in rose blooms. I'll probably get this one.

As usual, the catalog is full of misinformation. Gold Struck, announced as a "2016 sneak peek" and described as a "new introduction from Meilland International," is listed on HMF as Eureka, a Meilland hybrid tea bred before 2012. Raspberry Cream Twirl, listed in the catalog as a Meilland 2013 introduction, is Ines Sastre, which was bred before 2010. Always look up the registration names on HMF to guard against buying Edmunds' renamed duplicates of roses you already own.

In case you don't get the catalog, the website has now been updated for spring 2015.

Just mentioned this in the Nov thread.. still gunshy on ordering from them because the last time I ordered, I was sent roses that looked worse than any bodybag rose I ever bought at the dollar store.. and never even got 1 of them! Nothing survived .. which is a far cry from the 1st order I got from them, but I think the roses I had order from other places were far more superior.

The Eureka rose that I have is a Kordes rose. I think the new one from Meilland was re-named because Kordes trademarked the earlier Eureka. From what I can find online, it looks like this is the first year anyone outside of France has offered the Meilland Eureka-"Gold-Struck". It looks like a great new rose.
I really can't fault Meilland for renaming Ines Sastre with a more marketable name. It looks like that rose has a different name in every country. I bought Raspberry Cream Twirl last year when Edmunds first offered it. It's another one that was offered in Europe for a few years before it was introduced here, so that's why the registration dates differ.
Remember that children, marriages, and flower gardens reflect the kind of care they get.

It annoys me when they do that because I already had Ines Sastre, just as I already had been growing Dixieland Linda (3 of them, in fact) for years when they renamed it Lady Ashe and pretended it was brand new.

Toni, I also grew disenchanted with Edmunds' Roses over the years, but my beautiful Koko Loco came from them the last time they had a half-price sale. Believe me, I wasn't expecting much when I ordered it -- Edmunds'? Late in the season? And half-price? It arrived looking beautiful, however, and it has stayed beautiful.

I ordered Koko loco from them when they first intro'd it and its never really thrived. The one I bought locally is 3x as big & blooms constantly (in fact is in bloom right now). Could be the soil though as Edmund's is in the back yard + the local is in the front.
