Kyla maybe you could use tweezers to remove the damaged parts? If you can, I would grow them on the dry side, maybe under an over hang of some kind? Many of the arachnoideum types don't do well with excessive water.
That really does look like two different plants. Look to see if they are attached by a stolon, that will give positive proof one way or the other. Both are lovely plants.
Great photos Kyla.

Thanks, Lynn, I'll see if I can use tweezers on that. Sadly I really have no drier place, but I sure could redo the potting mix and try to move it out of the rain, and avoid watering it.... I did put it under cover again last night as there was a bit of rain, not much, but ya never know!

As for the two plants, they are so snug together I don't know if I will be able to see anything, but at least I know there is no warning sign, like, OH NO that red center means it has a disease, or something, which was my first thought. Glare Sticking tongue out Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious!

Kyla - here's my easiest suggestion - put something over it when it rains for the next few times. If its a large pot placed upside down, cover the drain holes so no rain gets in, remove it ASAP after the rain, if you do this for several weeks or a month, the plant will have time to grow deeper roots and less likely to rot in those conditions. I have some semps that I keep shaded with rocks, because they don't like the full sun in summer. And I have a whole container that I cover during extended rains, because I used just regular potting soil. Covering them and uncovering them works great for me! I tip my hat to you.
My understanding is anytime you get something labelled 'mix' its seed grown, and therefor it will be different semps grown close together that will be from different seed - therefore each one is unique! Thumbs up Thumbs up
Cheers I tip my hat to you.

kylaluaz said:So, I made another mistake, looks like. I transplanted Legolas a little while ago -- well, I had to because it had gotten its container knocked over by a cat and it was all dumped out on the ground. (For the second time!) I relocated the container this time.

But I have not given it enough room! Two of the rosettes are making offsets:

Darn it. I hate to disturb it yet again but I think I have to. Hope I can find good places for them as I am running out of appropriate containers.

In the future I will know to provide a lot more room around these guys. Glare Sticking tongue out

@TerriStanley -- Also, a note here for Terri if you're reading this: I know you'd asked for some Legolas and I would be more than happy to share, BUT! I have a real challenge getting to the post office in any kind of timely fashion. I have to rely on my housemate/cousin for rides and her schedule is not easy to squeeze into except when she has an open slot, and they are never predictable. So I fear I would package it up, and then have it sit around too long. Which is why I didn't offer. Sad

I just saw this Kyla. Any time you want to trade, let me know. I would love to have a Legolas chick! And I have quite a few semps to offer for trade now. No hurry, when you can or want to is fine.
