Anything below 60 and you get to hear me whine about how cold it is, how cold I am, and how cold my plants are all winter long! Rolling on the floor laughing

Hi Neil,

It's definitely not good when they start threatening you with "the coldest winter in 100 years." Thumbs down I hope we had that one last year, although this current storm is making me think it might be as bad or worse this winter. What kind of temperatures are you having now? Even the southern U.S. states are going down below freezing, totally crazy for this time of year especially.

That is cold Cheryl...hope it does not slide further. I remember we had a fluke of a hard freeze in 2012 but it was in January where our forecast says Hi of 49 and low of 31...but it slid further to 21F. That is way too cold for us already..I guess blessing is it did not go to any negative digits. Lost some of my plants then too.

Anyhow.....keep warm and safe!

Tarev, it's supposed to freeze tonight to 30º for 3-4 hours in our area. But like I said, anything below 60º and it's all the same to me! Brrrrrr!

Ouch, Cheryl. That is too cold for too many hours in your part of the world. My aunt in Brazoria county was out covering things because they were also expecting freezing temps. Ugh!

22 F this morning, 22 F tomorrow morning, 21 F next Tuesday morning, and 22F next Wednesday morning. Sighing! What happened to fall? Oh, I know. Global Warming simply eliminated that season for us in Mississippi. Whistling

"What happened to fall?"

I'm still wondering about what happened to summer here ! You'd think if we were going to have two bad winters in a row, the summer in between at least could have been nice Crying

Yes we do get that cold, just a few nights usually in the middle of winter in January. It is wacky here..in winter we can get that cold, and in summer we can hit as high as 110F.

But typically we hover in the low 40's and high 50's in winter, getting that 20's is a battle of wills concerning plants..can they take it or not. Rolling my eyes. And it is so bad if it happens to rain before that 20's come..my succulents outdoors which most of them are, will just have to bear it as best as they can. I can only hide the smaller ones and the orchids..the rest stays there.
