I found a chart on predictability in color of roses in breeding, is it the same in lilies?

Read the stickied thread 'hybridizing lilies' on the top of the forum. It has some color info. That said I don't think there are definite rules but it seems certain colors are generally dominant to others, especially reds and oranges.

I don't have any more to add since our discussion there.

If two orange are crossed, can yellow or red be possible in offspring?

If two orange species lilies were crossed, I'd say no, with 99.5% surety. But if two orange hybrids cross, who knows what unmanifested color genes might be lurking in those chromosomes. It must be quite evident that Lilium color genetics are much more complex than that of roses, or there would be a heck of a lot more variation in rose coloration and patterns, especially since their breeding has a much longer history. Don't forget that lilies may also carry multiple color blocking genes, too. But, I would still guess that an orange hybrid crossed with another orange hybrid would most likely produce some kind of orange hybrid.

It was interesting that when I crossed a yellow Lilium leichtlinii with an orange Lilium maculatum var. wilsonii, I came up with progeny that was all orange, and darker orange than the L. maculatum.

One was pure orange species lilium lancifolium, other is orange hybrid asiatic which has no dots solid Orange flower.

Do the dots on some blooms also play a role in color, some have throat color different from petals then some have dots or no dots.

Keith I think the "dots" are randomly inherited but the throat color is something that they call a "tango" lily.
Here are some examples of tango lilies.
