Today I will begin my quest to be ready for the next photo contest, whenever it comes. I have a note book with pages marked for each of the classes. This winter I will be searching through my folders looking for what I hope might be winners in each category. It will be something to do on those gloomy winter days. I will also work on taking good photos. I may also have OCD Shrug! Congratulations to all the winners and your blue ribbon Icons. I so need one of those Thumbs up

The winners sure are wearing those ribbons with pride! They look good in their microbadge lineups. Next year maybe I'll win one, too! I'm definitely going to try.

I'm quite the opposite. I considered entering. Boy I'm sure glad I did not!! The talent out there really blows me away!!

Also, I found my tastes to be quite different from many others.

Either way, it was great fun and quite inspirational.

Jennifer, I just got through viewing photos you've contributed to the database and they are awesome! I sure hope you will enter a few pictures next time! I am a very novice picture taker so I'm grateful that the contest is open to us all. I did hesitate to enter because I know we have some very competent, knowledgeable (and what I would call professional) photographers here on ATP but I entered for the fun of it and look what happened, I won a prize!!

By the way, I adore your database photos of the Pearly Everlasting Lovey dubby both the bloom photo and the one with the fence and pool in the background, really nice shots! You could have entered the bloom picture in a couple of categories and the other in the landscapes/gardens category. So ... please, please don't hesitate to enter the next contest!

Paul, I think we all have a little OCD in us about something. It's what drives us to do better (unless it's insanely compulsive, which I don't think you are, Group hug ). After seeing all the photos in the contest, I'm going to try to do better next year too. I know I will be creating a folder for those special shots that I may want to enter next year.

Lin, your badge looks good on you Thumbs up

Paul, that is a good idea. If you approach a plant to capture a photo you may be able to take several photos, each that would fit into one category. Photo of the bloom, a macro, a capture including a bee or butterfly, and step back to get the larger picture which might fit the landscape category. This may keep you awfully busy for the next 11 1/2 months! Thumbs up
