That is sedum 'Matrona' --oh sorry, Hylotelephium spectabile 'Matrona'--aged, with some Calamagrostis 'Karl Foerster' that joined it rather intimately after a wicked windstorm...

This is one of my favorites of the season. I had the advantage of being able to see it in all its 12mp glory and I have to say - the 1000px across just doesn't do the shot justice at all. It's really neat art.
