Okay, Hibiscus gurus. I inherited a hibiscus (I think Fireball) when I purchased and moved into my house this spring. Do I prune the canes
back to the ground now or wait until spring? I'd really like to tidy up the spot it's in, but I don't want to kill it.

Thanks!

I wait til after the first hard freeze then cut it back. If you prune it now and the grounds not cold enough then it will start to put on new growth and you really don't want that.

I agree Be patient for another month. Of course the way this fall is going, it may be tomorrow, with the kind of freezes forecast for Mississippi the next several days! Sticking tongue out

Thanks, everyone! I'll wait until sometime after Christmas before pruning it back.
