Question for you guys, since you're such a smart bunch of people Smiling My Mom has a Pudica that has a beautiful inflo... the problem is that the buds are turning brown and falling off before they open... it's hot as heck here right now and I'm thinking this is the cause, but wanted to make sure... if it's something I can fix and control I'd like to do it... Thanks!!! I tip my hat to you.

Plumeria pudica is pretty sturdy but I have to agree with you that it's probably the excessive heat. Can you post a picture? Have you ruled out a pest?

I would say a few months ago it was spider mites, but those have cleared up... we had a nice monsoon and then it hit 110 and I think it stressed it... I think a little extra water will help... I also think the pot is too small... but it's a bad time to give it a bigger pot isn't it? Probably lose the inflo right? Confused

It sounds like you are already losing the inflo, one bud at a time.... I think potting it up will help give it more room to breathe. A small pot is not helpful especially in the heat.

So, when I went over to my Mom's a couple days later to help her repot it, it decided it was going to behave and had 3 flowers open and they were beautiful... Hurray! So, whatever was causing the stress must be over... Thanks for all the input... One last question about Pudica's since I have an active thread going... Do they all tend to look skinny branched in comparison to the regular run of the mill plumeria plant? Confused
