Looks like a maple to me. Possibly Acer rubrum.

Maples grow wild in TX? Thank You!
Thats a surprise to me. BTW are sugar maples "wild" up north, or are they planted hybrids?

Depends where you mean. I think sugar maples are native to the most northern New England states and also Eastern Canada, but of course they've been transplanted to other areas where they didn't originally grow.

BONAP shows seven species of maple in Texas and all listed as native.
Acer floridanum
Acer X freemanii
Acer grandidentatum
Acer leucoderme
Acer negundo
Acer rubrum
Acer saccharinum
