All I can say it was absolutely wonderful reading all of the comments and looking at the pictures. Never heard of Quik Wall but your designs are something else. Thanks for sharing. Don't know how to do alot of things on this site but I wanted to add the "hurray" sign.

We've been talking about doing some concrete "workshops" this summer. (Anybody who can get to Frederick on Sat June 23... we're playing with hyperfufa at my place)

Quickwall has us all really intrigued, too. But I have some questions about transporting a project...

How long does it take quickwall to set up? It'll take us a few hours after our project to be done eating & visiting, but then the projects will have to travel.

I'm thinking maybe we can do something like quickwall leaves... I haven't done leaves, but I seem to recall you have to make the basil shape by scooping an indentation into some sand... if everybody had their own sturdy cardboard produce box with a few inches of damp sand in it, seems like we could do our leaves and take them home that evening box and all. ??

Or we could try quickwall on a styrofoam ball.... if we wrapped it snugly in press 'n seal and tucked it somewhere where it couldn't roll around, seems like it would travel OK even if partially set. ??

Thanks for any advice/assistance! If we gain confidence quickly, we'll be on to leaves by the end of summer. Smiling

Hi Jill,

Quikwall sets up pretty fast. I think you could transport it after a few hours if the leaves weren't real big. I do just the opposite when making leaves. I mound up the sand and lay the leaf on it with the backside facing up. That's how you get the nice vein work in the Quikwall. A ball would transport fine too.

I agree Small leaves and good sturdy boxes would work. It does set up pretty fast but it will still be vulnerable untl it's set.

Cool! Thanks for your help. I think we'll do hypertufa this time and quickwall for our next party...

Mounding the sand up for the leaves does make sense... thanks for that tip, too!

I don't think our group will have much trouble whiling away a few hours while the quickwall sets up, LOL. It does seem like we could get started wtih little quickwall leaves -- use 'em for spoon rests, soap dishes, whatever -- and then make bigger ones on our own with no need to transport them.

I was glad to discover recently that the Frederick Lowe's carries quickwall... I didn't see it on the shelves at HD, but I may have overlooked it.
