Wonder if I could freeze for use in the spring? in In-Place Composting

If you are in the habit of throwing your kitchen waste down the garbage disposal, you are wasting valuable nutrients that would make your flowers and vegetables thrive. So, if you only have a little kitchen waste and not enough yard waste to compost, or if you don’t have a compost bin in your garden, you can do “in-place composting”.

Great idea! I can't do much composting here in the winter because I can't get to my compost bin in the snow. And I won't be trenching anything around here for a good long time, but I wonder if I could ziplock the smoothies, freeze them, and use them next spring? I might experiment with that and see what happens. I do put all my banana peels by my roses, but I just throw them down whole and they disintegrate very quickly. Food for thought...parden the pun!

Yes. You can indeed do that. I have done it and so have friends of mine. The only issue is whether there is enough room in your freezer.

Also, when I froze my compostables, I didn't bother to thaw them out before using them, just emptied the various bags etc. into the compost and let them thaw in place. Perhaps not ideal but it did work.

Oh, and I didn't have the blender/slushie idea going either, just the basic stuff. With the added water, you might have a leakage issue with that slurry, so make sure your bags are good and strong or use plastic with lids, I'd advise.
