I'd winter sow them, but that's just me. Any time I don't know how to germinate a seed, or I don't feel confident with it, I winter sow at least a few. I let Mother Nature do it for me.
Thank you so much I have tried so many times and being in florida they drop in spring so we dont get cold for several months i guess i never waited long enough
i love the trees but cant afford 40-200 per tree
Maybe try now, while the seeds are fresh. They have to be moist for cold strat- so maybe in some damp vermiculite, and put in a plastic bag in the fridge for a couple of months. Then sow them. I'd try some outside, some inside.
that sounds like a great idea our weather is 95 day 78 night so think will take till next year but ill just park under a tree like they fell there (in a pot) ha ha
I dont have a tree but I work at Walt Disney World an the have hundreds of them. along with 50% of stores have them so i just watched for them till the opened and where ready to drop and collected them hope to have a few some day
This is my white Magnolia, it has been flowering constantly this summer maybe because of so much heat, I always get a LOT of seed pods in the fall if I get them again this year I would be glad to send you some.
