Paul, your mention that GYPSY LORD won the Wister Medal made me investigate further to find out the other two Wister Medal awardees -- and I just discovered that KATHY CHILTON also won! I love KATHY CHILTON, both the iris and the person! Kathy is someone I think should be the President of the AIS someday -- she's fantastic.

That's one gorgeous iris.....such a nice sharp color contrast. I assume the picture was taken in your garden.

Oh yes -- the hose is a big giveaway! And it's really vigorous for me, which I love -- most irises start dwindling away from the start and I have to keep adding rhizomes to get those gorgeous blooms -- but Kathy is impressive!

The other Wister winner was 'Chief John Jolly' hybridized by Tom Parkhill on TN.

I love all of my plant collections. I am the main caregiver for my 86 yr old mom and then I have 2 sisters that are sick too. Not as much spare time as I would like.

Yes, and don't forget hosta for shade lol! I love having color all season, so it just seems natural to have different collections.

We left most of our hosta when we moved to the new place. We had a lot of shade, and ,of course a lot of "shady" plants. Only have a few now, on the north side of the building.....Arlyn
