I'm not seeing it on other websites, but cubits and ATP are taking forever.

I've been going back and forth on Cubits and ATP since about 5 am and it's moving along fast and fine here. That's odd, huh?

Other websites were fine- gmail, CNN, the weather channel, GWeb... Only cubits, ATP, and photo bucket were slow.

Our desktop has been having some speed issues. It could be all the antivirus, spyware, adblocks, etc that my husband has on there. I'm trying my iPad now.

Honestly, I can't stick around when it's THAT slow.

Symantic, malwarebytes, free anti-virus ones, firewalls- he has layers and layers, and we've still gotten viruses.

Probably that desktop. my husband would like to wipe everything from the hard drive, and reinstall. Problem is, Microsoft doesn't give you the windows discs, and it costs so much to buy them. Too much to spend on a 5 year old computer.

We got new computer service recently, fiberoptic. It's fast. My iPad runs at lightening speed with it.

OK, computer idiot that I am, i'm looking like a real geek here. My husband bought me a keyboard dock for my ipad for my birthday. i have the ipad on it, sitting on the keyboard shelf of the computer desk. Now I can jump from ipad to computer when i need to. I need the computer for posting pictures here, but using the iPad for regular posts.

I just can't take the slow speed on the computer for this website. it really doesn't like Dave's software.

That's good to know because I've been thinking of getting an iPad. Now I'm definitely re-thinking that because I would want the ability to get to ATP and Cubits from the Ipad.

Dave, the problem is our computer, though it's not as slow on other sites, it is getting slow. Like I said my husband would wipe the hard drive and reload IF we had the windows software.

I love my iPad, but it does have limitations. I can't seem to use photo bucket app on either ATP or Cubits, but it does work on GWeb, but it's not a very good app.

Kathy, I'm just not good with tough screens! The keyboad dock looks like this.

The iPad is a fun toy, but it's NOT a computer.

That photobucket app is easy to support, but the problem is that photobucket pretty quickly removes the images from their server and then the images that you posted here are also disappeared.

So many threads at GardenWeb have these terrible looking "Image is missing!" thumbnails. It just makes a terrible experience for the visitors to those threads. This is one of my major complaints about GardenWeb (there are others, though!)

Dave, I've belonged to GWeb for many years, and used photobucket there. I think the only way the pics disappear is if the person who posted the link deletes that photo from their photobucket album, moves it to another album , or otherwise messes with it. Mine have never disappeared.

But the photobucket app for iPad is really hard to use, at least for me.

Another issue with photobucket- I can't upload photos to it using firefox. Works fine with IE. Once they're uploaded firefox works just fine with it/

We allowed photobucket on cubits for a while. It didn't take long for a thread (in the Sempervivum cubit, if memory serves me) to end up with a bunch of broken images. We all decided to never support remote images anymore after that.

There's no way to post pictures directly from the iPad. Since it's not a real computer, there's no place or store images, or any documents for that matter. A bummer. I'd really like to have a few documents at hand sometimes.

You know the biggest problem with ATP? It's like a shiny new toy to play with, and I'm spending way too much time playing with a garden website and not doing my real gardening. Sticking tongue out

I had trouble with slow typing on Cubits about 4 hours ago, it took forever for the type to show but later was OK. I had the same problem a few days ago when cmailing although it didn't take quite so long for the type to show. I must have waited 30 seconds today! Other sites were OK.
