Thanks for the pics everyone! They are indeed a sight for sore eyes!

Debra, I love that yellow beardless noid! It looks like a spuria, what do you know about it?

Neal, it was here when I moved in, no information on it. One of my favorites, though. Smiling Two photographs are from last year, two from this year:

I received Smart Money from Brad this year and I am eager to see it blooming here. Smiling

Neal, forgot to say I should have a couple of rhizomes of the yellow to send along with the Orange Harvest next year if you want them.

Debra,

Check out Lesley Blyth's Love The Sun Iris (Iris 'Love the Sun'). It was reasonably widely grown and looks pretty close. Always chancy to identify via a photo, but....

Oh Mary Ann, that is gorgeous! I love the warm tones too. Both are beautiful. I have put Puff the Magic on my need list. Its beard is wonderful.

I bought an iris at a spring plant sale and the following week it bloomed. Neal and Paul, if you have any idea about what type of iris this is I would appreciate it. At first I thought it was a LA but it is very short and the blooms are small. If it is a LA then perhaps it is one that was taken from the wild and not a hybridized one?

this is the flower bud

Paul, a pink TB that is without peach influence is really hard to find. It is lovely.

Debra, I wonder if your first yellow NOID is 'Joyce Terry'? Your clump shot looks like the one my Mother grew that got me going on historics....

So nice to see pictures of some of the ones I got this year. So much to look forward to.. A few more to add to my lengthy wish list.. Whistling

Donald, wow, that looks really close. Height and bloom time are a match, too.

Sherry, the height is similar, but mine blooms early. Sure does look like it, though.

Okay, so now I have to find folks who grow these two, see if they would take rhizomes and grow for comparison. Thank you both! I tip my hat to you. Hurray!

Bonnie, that Iris sure is pretty. Smiling

Bonnie,

Definitely a Louisiana iris. Might even be the species I. fulva, but there have been introductions that are both hybrids and selected clones. I don't know if it's still there, but they used to have a spectacular planting of I. fulva at the Dallas Arboretum. In full bloom in a good year it was/is quite something to see.
