Ooooh, Paul, those seedlings are pretty.

Look at the bottom of one of my posts. There will be a link to the blog and to my Green Amber Gardens webpage. Had to do something to vent when those girls were here or I'd have done something else that I'd regret.

Some great beards on several of those, love 'em! Marching Band look so warm and soft at the same time, is the color true in the pic?

Tuscan Summer is really dramatic, not colors and markings I'm typically in to, but that contrast is really intriguing.

The colors in the Marching Band photos are a bit muted. Here are some from my garden taken in the sun:

Paul, I like how you keep the thread on the subject by posting a few pictures at a time. I have gone back to some old threads I posted on and they are so far from the original topic you wouldn't be able to guess what it originally was. And, again, your photos of your beautifully grown irises are beautiful themselves.
Not sure yet how to give an acorn, but here's a try.

Paul, I ordered Suttons Rim of Fire this year, but I'm looking at your pic of Ringtone and they look the same, are you also a hybridizer?

I'm an Iris lover who has made a few crosses and raised seedlings exclusively for my own pleasure. It was a fun experience and gave me appreciation for what the serious hybridizers do. If I were younger and had a larger garden I might get more serious but not at this stage of my life. Ringtone and Marching Band are both worthy iris but were I choose one it would be Ringtone. It is brighter........

I guess the vigor and habit would be the deciding factor for me, since I'm just getting started with Iris with names. And pardon me all for 'going off topic' on this forum. I have been cozy and encouraged by everyone on the Orchid forum, so I didn't know your formal rules.

Paul, I must agree that your pink seedlings are utterly gorgeous.
I'm looking forward to my blooms this spring, for their beauty and for
the "paintbox" of colors and forms to select from, when I try my hand at
hybridizing. Looks like so much pleasure!

Bert, We don't have formal rules...and we go off topic all the time. I think Carl (who I don't personally know, Hi Carl! ) was just admiring how well it works to keep us on topic when Paul keeps feeding us morsels of his beautiful iris photos. Don't worry about going off topic...we all do it! ...and Welcome Roberta (since I don't know you either...and being relatively new I never know if someone else is new, or a long time member just dropping in to say hi!)

Bert, we have a tendency to wander. Sometimes, someone will bring us back on topic; others, we keep meandering. For interesting topics, a separate thread can always be started.
