I am so excited! Have finally got Candycane Oxalis bulbs that not only sprouted and grew for me, for the first time ever! But today I have blooms! One that is almost open, one fully budded and one tiny bud!!!! Now I have no idea what I did to get this far except to plant and keep moist. I will say though, that these were the best looking bulbs I ever received. I bought these off eBay, before I had bought from mail order nurseries and I could barely see the bulbs. These were much larger and nicer.

I took it outside to take the picture, they were not coming out good inside. But it's windy today and I could not keep the buds still when trying to photograph, so not the greatest shots, but you can see the sweet candy stripe color!

My question is, how do I take care of my plant now?? It has got cold outside and I have had to bring inside. I have it in a plastic self watering pot. How can I keep this beauty blooming? How much light does it want?? I just love it. There are 5 little bulbs in my pot. Will they multiply?? Are they hardy outdoors in the ground in zone 7??

Donna, I'm watching this thread so I can also learn how to care for this plant.
I tried it once and it died, I would love to try it again if I find out how to properly care for it.

Oh, you found it! Wow! I'm so glad you did! It's not very big or bushy, but it is so pretty! And I got my bulbs off eBay.

I just Googled and this was the first site listed with care info:
http://www.gardeningknowhow.co...

and another first hand experience:
http://www.growingwithplants.c...

Just remember that they are a South African bulb so no summer water, as indicated in both these links.

Thank you! Oh Sue, those sites were both great! Thanks! I copied both articles and saved them. I'm hoping my 5 bulbs turn into hundreds like the article says!
