I love the colors of that one! Kinda like the Shreiner's intro Veronica. I wonder if I crossed them if I could get the ruffles from Veronica with the fragrance of Midnight Embers? (That could be an expensive experiment!!! Guess I'll have to leave that one for someone else!

I think my favorite iris from last year was this historic NoID:

There were a lot of non-blooming rhizomes near it in a spot that was a wee bit damp. I trimmed/bleached and moved them to a sunny, dryer spot on my former front lawn. We will see what comes up. I moved them early enough to get good established growth.

I keep picking Fairy over and over again, so I will buy that one.

Thanks Deb. I made a point of trying to take bud and beard photos this year. I haven't posted them all yet -- I'm way behind on my *bookkeeping*. But I agree with you -- details are important, especially when trying to identify one!!!
