Hello Everyone.

I'm Tracey and I co-administrate this area with Ticker (aka Diann). Peonies have been a long love of mine and particularly are tied to memories of my grandparents. Peonies announce spring so beautifully and creatively with their many different colors and types. Though I believe that having a yard full of blooming peonies is a sure way to be certain of a heavy rain forecast that is "right on". Lol.

I have met many exceptional people through my love of peonies and lilies. I look forward to seeing friends here, old and new.

I have no favorite type of peony, though tree peonies have a special place in my heart and I think it is because they come out first here. And I could be here admitting that anything pink, puffy, with a great scent is sure to be on my favorites list. Smiling

Hi, my name is Val. I have a very small city lot (1/5 of an acre) but I still found room for a few peonies. I love them and wish I had the room to add at least a dozen more. I especially like the very fragrant peonies. I only have a few but I love them so much. I have two Red Charm, one Kelway's Glorious, one Edulis Superba and an unnamed seedling that's a pink single.

Edulis Superba from last year (pink, puffy and has a great scent)

I'm happy to be here. When I first came over to cubits, one of the first things that I looked for was a peony forum. I'm ready to start watching for a peony parade on here. These flowers are wonderful. I love them all.

I always enjoyed the peony forum over at DG so I was anxious to join this one. Tree peonies are so pretty but I'm patiently waiting for one that is considered very fragrant. I could make room for that. Somewhere.

Oooooh, soon the Peony parade will start. That is, as soon as the snow melts and goes away. ;) LOL Glad you're here Val!

Hello All!
I agree with Tracey. I love peonies because they tie me to my grandparents. I've moved many times, and each time I take a part of my grandparents' peonies with me. Finally I have a place where we intend to stay for the duration, so I've been adding more each year. I started with passalong plants, then bought from Gilbert Wild and nurseries I visited, and then last year hit the jackpot when I went to a sale sponsored by a club in Kansas City. They had Itoh hybrids, tree peonies, species peony and huge roots of more common varieties. I can't wait to see what blooms this year. In the meantime, I'll be checking back on here to see all your lovely pictures!

Greeting, all. Peonies are my first plant. I keep trying to learn more. If there are any members from the South, do any of you try hybridizing your own peonies if so I would love to talk to you.

I love best whatever's in bloom
Hi everyone... I'm Kathy Guest Shadrack from the Buffalo, NY area. I'm on a couple of the other cubits and since the season is heating up, so is the need to poke around and see what everyone else is doing. I love peonies... favorite herbaceous is probably Old Faithful, a deep red double that never falls over. Not crazy about tree peonies but the intersectionals are fabulous. I'm here to learn and fan my plant gimmies.
