I saw a mocking bird last week and it made my day! Love seeing yours and a Palm Warbler. I have seen one only once!

The Northern Mockingbird is very common here; one of the most prolific backyard birds along with Mourning Doves, Blue Jays and Northern Cardinals. The Palm Warbler is a Florida resident but we only see lots of them during the Winter and Spring.

Huh. New high for my yard:20 Mourning Doves at once!

8 in the feeder, 2 on the ground and the rest in the tree waiting for an opening. Looked down to my computer for a minute, then look back out and they all disappeared. Now I know why the seed is disappearing so fast.
If we had no holes in our leaves we would have no butterflies!

Oh how pretty! I never see Bluebirds and I sure wish I could attract them to my yard. Years ago I'd see one or two on occasion at a feeder eating mealworms but it's been quite a number of years since I've seen one here.

This bird has been hanging out on the thistle sock the last few days, or at least that is when I've noticed it. It is always with the Goldfinch, and it is the only one I've seen. Is it a Pine Siskin? That is the only one I can come up with, but I've never seen one of those before, so I'm not sure! It is a little more orange looking in person. I've got photos from other angles, but they are a little blurry. I will try to get better pictures to post. Any suggestions, if it isn't a Pine Siskin, would be most appreciated!

Hurray! I finally got one right! It is a really pretty bird! I wonder why it is hanging out with the Goldfinch though. Seems like it would be hanging out with other Pine Siskins, but what do I know? Shrug! Hilarious!

Natalie, they hang out a lot with the Goldfinches and Common Red-pols, they are sweet little birds and after awhile you can get within a couple of feet of them. Green Grin!

Thanks Margaret! Not sure that this one is sweet though. It keeps chasing off the Goldfinch when they get near his food area. Hilarious! But, it seems to have no problem hanging out when them. Wherever they go, he goes. Is it a male? It is such a pretty little bird! I can get really close to the Goldfinch, so it will be fun getting close to this little bird too! Thanks for helping with the name!
