Just made a quick run to get groceries and all before the deluge hits here.

A quick run outside to replace the bird netting over the semp beds. Hopefully they won't end up in OZ!

Good weather for doing the book proofs! Very clean so far but it's hard to read it out loud so I don't miss things.

OK -- that explains the miraculous page proofs you mentioned elsewhere, Kevin. I can understand your Iris book's being that far along; I was finding it hard to believe the semp book was already at proof stage!

Oh boy, I would be having visions of sugar plums at the thought of the sempervivum book being that close to publication.

Jack Broxholme got a kick out of Ed too - he visited a couple of times, and had some great stories about it, including how odd it felt to sleep in Mr. Packards bed.

We've had a couple drier days now and things are looking better. Have pulled out a few rotten rosettes but 99% are just fine.
