I picked up Sedum Lime Zinger, Cherry Tart, and Dazzleberry. I really like the Lime Zinger's foliage even though there is no red on it yet. I got all 3 for $1.50 a piece on clearance at ACE Hardware about 4 days ago.

Wow, Toney that was a really great price. Great photo.

I love the Lime Zinger, mine is just starting to put the red edges on. I think it is putting it in sun that does it.
My 'Blue Elf' has taken off and has bloomed for the third time this year. And that is with the terrible heat and drought we are having.

I will have to get me 1 of those Blue Elf sedums. My Sieboldii gave up the ghost last year and Blue Elf looks like a good replacement.

Toney agree with Lynn, regarding Lime zinger, it reddens in sun, mine has been in full sun, I keep forgetting to move it, and it is all reddish now!
Blue elf is an amazing plant, super easy to grow, mine is in part sun because this Seattle weather has been crazy hot and dry!
Thumbs up

I have my 'Blue Elf' in full blazing all day sun, and it is gorgeous. That is one tough plant.

Thanks Lynn. I may wait until the fall to get it. Hopefully the price goes down. LOL!

Greg my sun would probably kill my plants if I kept them in the sun all day. The only sedum I have that can take full sun in my yard during the summer is the sedum confusum. We have weeks where we stay at plus 95 degrees. I havent tested the new plants in full sun yet but I am encouraged. I have only watered them once and they still look fresh with no wilting.

@Cruddy,

If you have not purchased it yet Santa Rosa have it on sale now for 6.95 and they are running a 29% off sale. My order is in. It was never for sale locally and it was not sold at the places I order so this is the first time it was available for me.

@Cinta, THANK YOU. Of course, your find did cost me money... but I'm thinking it's money well spend. Thanks to all of you for providing the reviews, too.

No problem Sean. The more we save it leaves money to buy more. I like to buy a lot so I look for the lowest price and it gives me more money left over to get more plants. I have to wait a few months sometime but I think it is worth the wait. Smiling

The thing is, I'm thinking I have the perfect place for it. I'm nesting three in a stretch of Angelina that I'm trying to get going, but even the good Angelina is having to struggle. It's a rough spot at the bottom of the driveway and on a south-facing side of a slope. A tough and drought-tolerant proven trouper is what's needed. Should the site ever turn out the way I hope, I'll be sure to take a picture.

I'm not sure how the 'Blue Elf' would do in those conditions. It does need some water in the heat and drought of summer.
This one might work for you.

It doesn' bloom very often, but when it does the blooms are beautiful, and stand above the foliage. Also this one is upright, like a miniature evergreen forest.

Oh sure, so now I have more shopping to do Hilarious! . No, seriously, thanks for the tip Lynn. I may still test one out on the site as the sprinklers do reach there, as can I. I'll also most likely seek out some of the turquoise tails. This winter, with this still newish to me site and wonderfully good ideas, is beginning to get expensive. I was laid up with a broken heel from the 1st of September to well into the onset of winter so fall planting (and shopping) was out. I'm certainly making up for it now...and am looking to a very active spring. This is just the beginning of the 4th growing season in this house where non-gardeners lived, so I'm just catching on to what works and what doesn't, and where. Xeric plants are the answer in the front, and sedums are great. Live long and prosper.

Sean I have been trying to do a stretch along the driveway. I want some color but I want it all sedums. I also picked up Dark magic. I am trying to do a tapestry design of different colors. I am hoping they are not tricking me and this is not Black Jack. That loser sedum from a few years back that no one could keep alive.
