Do you mean the plant database, @plantcollector?
If so you go to the main database site (click on the box on the left that says 'Plant Database'), and type in the name of the plant of which you have the picture; then just follow the directions.
If that was not what you meant - sorry!! *Blush*

No I just started putting plants in my plant list. When I type the name of the plant it will automatically use a picture out of the data base. I would like to use my pictures if possible.

I'm pretty sure that if you post a photo to that plant, then your photo will be the one used when viewing your plant list.

you just find the plant listing in the database. Up in the top left corner of the homepage-click on plant database. Then type in the name of your plant and press enter. Select the plant (it may give you a short list of choices) and it will bring up a page specifically for that plant only. Then toward the bottom of that page click on "Upload a Photo".

Right. Also you can find the plant in your plant list. Click on the plant's name to go to its entry in the database.

Dave it will not automatically choose a photo belonging to me. It seems to choose the thumbnail photo for that entry.

It seems like at some point we had discussed this. Maybe I should program it so that it tries to show the image from the user when you're looking at that users' list? Or did we decide against that?

Or maybe you can program it so the user can choose the photo to be used?

I agree with Lynn. If I am uploading photos to the database and see that there are already a lot of flower photos, I might just upload shots of leaves, buds are whatever is needed. If my photos were automatically used, then the photo in my plant list would be a leaf are some other part, when I would prefer a flower.

I guess the right solution here, then, is if we want to do something, we should let the user choose which image to use on a plant by plant basis. That sounds tedious for the user but maybe giving the option wouldn't hurt.
