Catching Up with peonies...and they sure weren't ready for freezing one day and hotter than blazes the next. What a crazy spring! I mean summer...Thumb of 2011-06-07/magnolialover/45ed9b Thumb of 2011-06-07/magnolialover/77cb14 Thumb of 2011-06-07/magnolialover/4917e2

All so beautiful! I would love to grow some but I suppose they won't like being under water part of the winter. The alternative is to kick out some lilies close to the house... Sad .

Boojum, beautiful, just beautiful! There are several there that I am drooling over. What nice gardens you have!

Thank you, Evan, that second one I bought years ago from a place that sells quite a few peonies called the Flower Factory. Before I kept much track of who was who or what was what, I bought several peonies there while they were blooming. A true sucker I am for a pretty face . In the photo, it is fully opened.

The rains and wind have really impacted the blooms themselves and the moisture levels are effecting what blooms are left. The poor peonies just wanted to have their time and this 100 degree weather one day, 50s the next, does not appear to make them happy.

I should get out there with my camera again tomorrow.

Prairie Moon has a great shape and color but gets sloppy and pales to a very light yellow, even off white. I love it but always wish it wouldn't change.

It seems like it has been used in a bit of peony breeding too. It must have some very nice qualities. I think a lot of the herbacious yellows have that same issue, fading to white. The intersections have really improved that feature. 'Garden Treasure' and 'Bartzella' seem to hold their color quite well. So at least there are yellows that stay yellow, if we like them.

So many beautiful pictures. I am new to the site and really confused as to which forum or "thread" to be in. If someone notices me in the wrong forum or "thread",please just give me some kind advice as to which one would be better for me. Here is a picture of some of my Silver Dawn Mix. I bought them from Klehms also. Looks like I will have to wait till 2012 to see if I have other colors in the Silver Dawn Mix series. Silver Dawn Mix.Thumb of 2011-06-27/doglover/27e4d7

By the way, why are people using copywrite pictures. How do you mark your own pictures as copywrite/ Should I be doing this.

Doglover, people use copyrights to help prevent non approved use of your photos on other sites such as ebay.

At the top of the page click on "Your Account". You will see a new set of tabs appear below that. Click on "Preferences". You will see a list of items you can personalize such as adding a watermark/copyright. Go through the whole list and customize how you see Cubits pages. When you are finished don't forget to click on "Save Your Changes" at the bottom.

You can always redo things until you get it like you want it.

pardalinum: thank you. I will try this tonight after work. I try not to ever put pictures with my family included, I never really thought about someone using my pictures. They must like them. Do most people prefer to use the watermark/copywright? We will see if I get it right. Catch you later. THANKS for your help.

Sometimes unscrupulous vendors will steal pictures off the internet and use them on their website, etc. A watermark stops that sort of thing.
