If I was farther north, I would hibernate all winter. It has been a milder winter here than I was expecting, but that could easily change. Definitely a lot of plans in the dream phase Smiling

Northeaster storm coming, good cover for the plants if it gets cold again. I will read my English Garden magazines. ☺

Neal, I loved everything I saw. You sure have a green thumb. I love being outside working on my flower gardens. I still have too much space in-between plants so I am planning ways to start filling in the gaps. I got a lot of new Lily bulbs that I have potted and have started germinating a bunch of different kinds of flower seeds to pot and transplant. Can't wait until our nights are 50 F and above. Happy gardening and thanks for sharing your precious flowers. Thumbs up

Thanks Jeanne! Oh, you'll be surprised how quickly those spaces fill in! Before you know it, you're searching for a bare spot to plant a new goody!

The gardens are waking up beautifully, and buds are showing each day! This is my favorite time of year.

gemini_sage said:Thanks y'all! I'm fortunate to have no neighbors in sight, well, at least not when the trees are leafed out. I gotta let my freak flag fly, LOL! And I must admit, being kind of an absent minded professor in the garden, it's nice that when I get distracted and leave piles of weeds and garden trimmings laying around, nobody can see them. I've been doing a lot of manicuring and editing this fall, so I'm looking forward to much improved "after" pics in 2015.

Marilyn, it came about because of the garden around the entrance, which is in memory of my friend Jan who lived (and died) in this house. Purples, blues, and mauve were her colors, and she loved fragrant flowers, so those qualities have guided the plantings. I had already decided I wanted to paint the house a quirky color, but the garden told me what color to go with.

Such a lovely background color for your beautiful plantings! yOU MUST HAVE BOUNDLESS ENERGY!

Oh how I wish that were true! Hilarious! I can certainly feel my energy has drained quite a lot over the last few years, some of the beds are a hot mess right now. Been gradually working on it though, a bit at a time.

I know what you mean, Neal. I can't believe how fast the weeds and grass appear in my beds. It's like they grow inches over night. Now it's time to go back through them one at a time and take care of them especially since we just had a nice rain which should help them pull easier.
