What pretty clematis! Some I've not heard of ...so many clematis to enjoy!

Anna, yes, I love finding bargain plants - especially plants that you want.
And I went yesterday and rescued two more - they were still dry as a bone

First blooms on Diamantina and the snails/slugs have been snacking.

Diamantina is a beauty. We do have to use slug bait here to protect the clematises but generally one application as buds form, is enough.

Earwigs are the scourge of the clematises in my garden. They love them!

Mrs. Cholmondeley is starting to bloom, despite being moved several weeks ago.

Well, it has been a bit of clematis torment at my place, but I finally got the two monsters and three youngins relocated--and my first bloom

I have been waiting for about four years for this one to do something...and it finally did
but, I rudely dug it up, too. Hopefully, it will like its new home alright and start to be a real-live clematis someday

I try not to move my clematis but just had to transfer Nelly Moser from a pot she has been in for 6-7 years to the ground. She was getting droopy in the afternoon. I was so lucky not to break the stems,

Good job and very successful. For years I was fearful of moving any clem's but once I moved the first one I saw how easy it was to do.

I have to move one this spring. I killed one by trimming it too soon. So now I need to put the other on the trellis.

It probably is not dead as long as the roots are in the ground.

Filigree. Had it in a container for about three years, then moved it in-ground a couple of years back. It has been sulking ever since, blooming a near-white instead of a mild purple and never getting more than six inches high, but might be getting more cheerful--the color is starting to come back.

Our "Pink Champaign" from last year; its 3rd year. gonna be even better this year but it hasn't started blooming yet! Hurry up will ya!

I am happy to see it in such good shape. As low to the ground as it is, and as many slugs/snails as I seem to have this year, not a lot is safe.
