Well, we're playing tonight, so there's no way of avoiding the crazies on the road. I was hoping Dave would be the designated driver, but he's got a nasty cold and I'm leaving him home.. So I'll have to limit myself to a couple of shots of scotch throughout the evening. I'm taking the RV, so if I have 3 shots, I'll be in the parking lot overnight

However you decide to celebrate.. be safe, and be happy. Hoping all your Irises bloom beautifully in the coming year.

The surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that it has never tried to contact us.

Funny, Leslie. I stayed up to see the new year in and the duck hunters woke me just before dawn. I have gotten used to being awakened by gunfire from November until hunting season is over but you should see the looks on my guests faces when they hear the volleys. I tell them there are still some yanks and rebs in the hollers.

Bonnie, that is a good one.

Guns began sounding off here before 9:00p. Sounded like some fireworks, too. Kept on until around 12:30, then I guess it started raining?
