Wow! Love that tomato soup! I tried to winter sow some this year, with no luck Thumbs down But, I think I might still have some more seeds, so will try again this winter since they are so pretty! Thumbs up

not sure how hot it got here today, but too hot to keep weeding out in the sun!

Literally the only coneflower (other than the wild purple ones) that I can get to grow here.... seems like not many are hardy in our zones. Got this one in morning sun up till about 1:00pm, then the building blocks the sun completely. Not sure if this is helpful but this is where it seems to grow. Also maybe beacause it is blcok from the north winter winds?!?! Maybe that helps as well -- who knows! Confused

I love that "tomato soup" echinacea - it certainly appears to be exactly the right color for the name!

Finally -- the weather is a little cooler here today; we set a record high for the date here on Thursday, I think the official temp was 90 but we had 95 on our outdoor thermometer. Need an emoticon for "wilting" !! Not too much has been getting done around here this week, other than early in the morning -- but the garden has definitely been growing, so it's not all bad. My day lilies are finally starting to bloom!

Been a little busy outside. I've been growing different varieties of heirloom squash for many years now & this is the first time I've had to deal with vine borers. The only info I could find was to cut the vine & dig them out... so that is what we did to every mound with issues ~ about 30-40 plants. Each one had an average of 3 worms inside the vine, afterward I packed wet dirt around the cuts.. its been over a week now & no total losses of the plants!! Thank God. Now I'm finding little worms on the Iris' Grumbling This year has been just awful for problems & bugs. I'll get off my soapbox though & share some pretty blooms.

The weather is not too bad today, mostly cloudy, about 65, slight breeze. It's supposed to get warmer tomorrow.

Thanks! 65 actually sounds refreshing! I do have to say though that we are still in the 90's and humid and getting rain sprinkles!

We mostly have very low humidity here, a lot of the area is semi arid.

This is the Kamloops area overlooking Tobiano golf course and housing development that they are building, about 35 to 40 miles from where we live, we have more evergreen's around our small town and cooler temperatures because of the higher altitude.
