I agree! This is a very similar concept to growing plants in a bucket. I use pvc pipe for my buckets. Works far better than you can imagine (unless you've already tried it)! I would have never thought to use a pvc water pipe in a strawberry pot. Excellent idea!

I can't seem to find a strawberry jar in town. I saw this tip and wanted to try it. I also tried to build an E-Bucket for a tomato plant. It seemed to work well at first then it failed. Or the tomato plant failed. Don't know which. I think I will give it a try again this summer but use a different plant that I know is not touchy or problematic.

Love this idea. My strawberry pots always lose soil.

Mary, I made the terracotta colored pots in the article. They were really inexpensive containers from a bargain store like Big Lots or something. I just used a drill and a 2 or 2 1/2" hole saw to make the holes.
