This little guy (it's only about a half inch tall) popped up in one of my amaryllis containers and I am wondering what it could be. It looks like a succulent to me, and the leaves are kind of mottled.
No. Nor do I have any adeniums. The only succulents I have are a jade plant and a couple of agaves. Also, the amaryllis have been upstairs in my bedroom since last winter. The jade plant flowered a couple of years ago.

Are the leaves 'normal' or succulent-feeling? Would you be able to add another pic with a penny or other known object for scale?

The leaves feel thick like a succulent - the entire plant is only half an inch high so that might change as it matures. I can take another picture tomorrow when there is more light.
I'll be curious to hear what that cute little seedling turns out to be. It reminds me a lot of a cactus seedling but it could be many things. Back in the 1970's I sowed a packet of mixed cactus seeds and the seedlings looked identical to that photo ... it took them a long while to look like true cactus with spines.

Do you have any house plants that have produced seeds? If you bought the Amaryllis already potted, the seed could have come from something growing (purposely or not) at the grower facilities.

The jade bloomed a couple of years ago and may have produced seeds. Maybe it just took time? The Amaryllis used to sit next to the jade, so that is a possibility.
I potted the Amaryllis bulb up myself.
It also reminded me of Kalanchoe seedlings but it could very well be a seedling of Jade Plant (Crassula ovata) Possibly a stem or leaf that was hanging over near the Amaryllis pot; all it takes is a little piece and it will take root. I found this image of a Jade seedling: Jade Plant (Crassula ovata)

It sounds likely that a leaf from the jade fell into this pot.
