springcolor, I am glad to see someone else growing Trachaleum careuleum 'Hamer Pandora'. I grew it for two years and lost it two winters ago, I thought that I had not protected it well enough, but later learned that it is a short-lived perennial. I purchased a new one from Annie's Annuals a month or two ago and have planted it out. I will take cuttings to ensure that I am never without it again...I love that plant

Good plan about cuttings. I bought this one at City People Nursery in Seattle. Love the color. Have you ever seen seed on the plant?

I have heard that it is sterile. I tried to gather seeds from dried flower heads, but I didn't get any. I could have been too late. I also never had any seedlings appear in the garden, so it very well may be sterile. I will watch it more closely for seed this year. I really want to keep this plant in my garden, I love the foliage color, and the flower color is amazing too

Beautiful! I haven't been on in a while. Such a busy year. I spent 2 weeks in France this summer and then 2 weeks in Pennsylvania. My garden wasn't quite as insane this year, and I avoided planting a lot of vegetables since I was going to be gone. Now that the weather is cooler, I'm enjoying being outside again. I started my own blog---I think I can post it here, since it's not a business (I do not have ads or anything), and it's just my personal journal. Check it out at www.poppiesandthistle.com
I named it Poppies & Thistle, as poppies represent the beauty in life and thistle represents the challenges.
