Am interested in adding a number of new roses to my garden (Tampa Florida- 9b) Would like to use Shrub and English roses if they would work for me here. I want full flowers and fragrance. Have no idea who to buy from. I see some listed in the Wayside catalog and also looked into Chamblee's but am at a loss who to buy from. Any help would be appreciated. Dan

The Antique Rose Emporium has been good. I like Jackson & Perkins. You might want to check out the Rose Forum here on ATP for additional recommendations.

Can you grow own root roses where you are? Well a rose grafted on fortunianna root stock be needed. This is the root stock used in Florida. It thrives well in heat and sandy soils.
Chamblee Nursery is an excellent own root nursery.
Cool Roses is a good place for roses grated on fortunianna root stock (recommended for your area).
Hope this is helpful. Pat

I'd rather weed than dust ... the weeds stay gone longer.
