These aren't current Fungi photos but I thought I'd start off the thread since no one has done so yet.

I love these little Parasol looking fungii. Someone identified these as Leucocoprinus birnbaumii

Is slime mold the same as vomit mold? I used some mulching material that consisted solely of plant material chipped up from growth in the power lines. The growth often looked like your photo, but sometimes it looked liked vomit and some spots of it bled red. The red looked alarming. The life cycle is so short I never did get a photo.

These ones we found under one of our containers, buried under the mulch, as we set aside the mulch, we thought they were stones..but it is some type of fungi.

Fun fungus photo. It came up through the hole of an empty clay pot parked next to the foundation of the house. Proof fungi can come up anywhere if conditions are right because that area is bare, hard red clay with lots of rock and gravel. Not much grows there without intervention.

Hi, Everyone! Group hug

I just posted in another area .. 2 pics of a 'mushroom' 12 (30cm here) across & approx. 4 inches high (maybe a bit more). There were more that came up nearby, but I only took these 2 pics.

This one came up in home-made mulch that was spread under some Tortured Willows. I have no idea of it's variety Confused & I sure wasn't going to try eating it, unless I did!
I'll add some more Fungi Pics later .. I'm so Thumbs up to find other gardeners like Fungi, too .. and not just to eat!

The only Fungi I've never been able to photograph, was one that was fluorescent & grew in a paddock, out of town on a property where I lived previously .. I notice them because I'd driven over some one night & my car tyres were glowing in the dark! I wasn't able to find them the next day, except for their squashed bodies in the tread of the tyres! Funny country this .. Blinking

Anyway, love all your pics! Hurray!

Lin,
This is a good photo. It shows the fungi at work. I've seen fungi that looks similar to this at work on an old stump. Depending on the kind of plant, stumps can take a long time to go away. I'm in my 60s now and there are still some old oak tree stumps in the pasture which were cut when I was in the lower grades of grammar school (is 'grammar school' a term that's still used?). Back on subject - without the fungi doing its part at breaking it down, I wonder how long large chunks of woody material would last?

Here are a few more photos of another type of Fungi .. these were 'at work' on a dead Sugar Maple after some rain.
A funny kind of 'velvet' feeling Fungi that made weird shapes .. or did I just see things in the forms? Shrug!
They shrivelled up after the rain stopped & the sun dried things out. Sad

Don't know if anyone else can see it, but there's a puppy in this one .. Whistling

I see the puppy and the ears! In the first photo, the one on the far right looks like a stingray's wing when they are flapping them through the water.
I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. I think that's what living is all about. Not what I've done in my life but how I've treated others.
