Cardoons will definitely grow amongst flowers, but their foliage needs a lot of space. I grew some in a flowerbed a few years ago. I never got around to picking the flower-heads for eating, though. They looked too pretty!

Thanks June! That's what I want...big bold plants that take up a big space. Now I'm just trying to find a seed source for cardoon.
