I actually love having a shady yard. I pretty much never have to garden in the sun if I don't want to. There is always a part of the yard that is in shade at pretty much any time of the day except 11 - 2. I am one of those pink skinned people who don't tan - ever, so being able to work in the shade is great. I work in the early morning, then take a break mid day, then do a few more chores in the afternoon/evening.
