Hi Teresa, I did not have any issues with Big Red Wagon hanging up last year, its first year in my garden. Of course, our season was 2-3 weeks late due to a bad ice storm in February and a colder-than-usual March. By the time Big Red Wagon bloomed, it was well into June and there are no cool mornings in Georgia in June! I don't know how it would open if the temperatures got into the mid-60's or lower in the mornings.

Only planted one daylily starting with a "B" last year:

All the "B's" are so beautiful! I thought I had more than I do, but here is one that I just purchased last year and am really excited to have because it is a bitone.

Vicki, I also like bitones. I have had that one on my TO GET List. My oldest daughter lives outside of Boston.

I love to visit there, New England and Cape Cod is beautiful. They can have brutal winters. I am as far North and I want to be.

In my hot, dry climate the lush daylily edges are about half the size of those in more humid climates, and the colors are not as vivid unless they bloom early in the spring. But I still love them anyway!
