Hey Annie,
The story about your Aunt Rose made me remember something I hadn't thought of years. Being raised Catholic, when I was preparing for my confirmation, we had to pick someone to be a sponser. So, I picked my favorite aunt, Aunt Gertie, who was my dad's sister. I assumed her name was "Gertrude". It was many years later when I learned her real name was ... Genevieve.

Anyway, are you staying warm, or trying to? Even Patch doesn't want to go out ... except when he has to go do his business. He'll pee in the cat litter box, but not poop. Go figure. Blinking

Stay warm,
Jane

Hi Jane, I can't complain because I know you are probably colder than we are, but my god, 2 degrees this morning. It's supposed to "warm up" to 33 tomorrow...I'm planning to give the henhouse a good cleaning...those girls (14 of them) have been cooped up for 3 days because of the cold. They won't come out even to eat. What a mess.

Family names are so weird. My father's sisters included Aunt Birchy (Bertha) and Aunt Kitty (Veronica (I always thought it was Katherine, but no). My mother in law was always called Aggie, but her real name was Sylvia.

My cats dont like to do their business outside in this cold either. I had to laugh (a bit ruefully) when Grace ran outside this morning and did hers right on the deck...I guess she figured she could dig in the snow, it must be OK.
I am not "country" I am "landed gentry."
