Hello sam,

Please sam, had you seen an article or post here on All Things Plants about a wine bottle planter? If so, can you tell us which forum or article you were looking at when you saw the wine bottle planters? Maybe you can copy/paste something from that thread? Was it this thread started by @jeffgreen? The thread "wifes homemade wine bottle planters" in Cactus and Succulents forum

There are specialty kits to cut wine bottles; basically they consist of a glass cutter which is held in place and is used to score the glass and some rollers to roll the bottle on. After that, the glass needs to be heated then cooled, sometimes several times, before the pieces with separate.

Always wear safety glasses when working with glass, please.
