What a great show that was! So many participants and entries Thumbs up . So many beautiful lilies Hurray! . As always the floral entries are wonderful. That first one, Della, is intriguing... do you know how it was put together?

I think it was an oasis gabion. I spoke to the lady as she benched it and she said it was secured at the bottom so it couldn't fall over even though it looked like it could, so I guess the base was very heavy.

I thought maybe that was how it was done. Fabulous, fabulous. Also the one next to it, simple but creative. What a show! (there I go again!)

Anthony, those Pink Brilliants must grow huge down there, referring to your neighbor Anne's largest flower award. A Pink Brilliant grown by Kate Woolworks won best stem at the South Australia Lily and Bulb Society Show this year.

I might consider putting a couple bulbs of Pink Brilliant in my mixed garden just for show. But comparing the two shows and based on pictures I've seen, your Claremont show was much, much better. They were both held on the same week end. There is a reason why Judith Freeman came to your's Thumbs up Thumbs up Thumbs up

Never quite seen anything like that Pink Brilliant grown by Kate Woolworks for the SA Lilium Show. I tip my hat to you.
What a gal !! She certainly knows her stuff.

I am being serious here!.. If anybody from the US of A, wanted to visit next year , I am taking my 'long service leave' , I can accommodate 2 people for at least a week.. Looking for somebody with a keen eye, who could judge ' Connie?'.. You could do the Trifecta Tazzie Circuit 3 shows in 3 weeks , even go on to others!.. Visit 'Table Cape[Van Deiman] ' Vogelvery' Glenbrook' , Botanical Gardens as a guest[Im sure I could arrange something].. Taste of Tas & Mona Foma Blinking .. Della , help me out here , with more reasons.. Car is a problem , as I only have the Dodge , but I can drive you anywhere in a 'Renta'. : . Think about it , as I am seriously thinking of coming to visit you all in about 8 years ,when Im 8 years older ! Sighing! Blinking

What a fantastic idea. Hurray! I second, third and fourth it! Tassie is a summer garden mecca, if anyone wants to escape the winter. I can't offer accommodation yet (ha - I'm sleeping on a matrees on the floor in the middle of an owner-builder 'project'), but I'm certainly around too when it comes to driving round tassie to shows, gardens and so on. oooh.... I might have access to accommodation up the northwest for the Burnie show....

Thumbs up

I don't recall anyone saying you won Best OA Hybrid, Della. And you garnered two photos in the web site line-up, too. Congratulations!

I was going to ask, what did Judith say about the masquerading L. leichtlinii at the show? Did she expound on what she saw that tells her that they are imposters? And is that why the name on that "Best Species Lilium" is so grossly misspelled?
