Whenever I give a talk to a garden club or group of master gardeners, I always make sure to spend a few minutes talking about one of my favorite plants, chickweed. Every person needs to know about this useful (and deliciously edible) plant.
Chickweed is one of those weeds that I fight every year. It is going to be hard to not kill it, but it does sound as if it has some very good qualities.

I'm thinking of picking some and then adding bacon and onion to fix it like sour lettuce. Or maybe just a bowl of it with a little oil and vinegar. At any rate, I am going to try to work with it, instead of against it this year.
