Y'all are off and running without me!!! Hilarious!

What wonderful choices so far! I love-love-love Bamboo Shadows!! I got Bratislavan Prince and Bel Espirit this past year -- prolly won't see blooms this spring, but I'm so excited to have them. Your beautiful pictures reinforced my selections!!

Neal -- what a sweetie you are to find a picture of Lucy's choice -- and what a pretty choice. I love blue Irises!! Lovey dubby

Jan -- Bravery is one of those Irises that I lusted after for several years -- finally got it in 2013. It didn't bloom for me last year -- surely it will this year. Can't wait!! Hurray!

Bonnie -- what a cool Iris that is. What kind is it?

And Debra -- Debra means bee? I think I'm confused!! Confused You're right -- Bumblebee Delight is a cutie!!

Lucy -- please explain to me what a tetraploid Iris is.

Oh that Ballerina Queen is gorgeous!! I got that one in 2013 too. Don't think it bloomed last year -- I have GOT to finish my database photos!!!

Greg -- I agree -- this was a hard one. I was torn between two (or more). Think I'll show them both.

Bengal Tiger, a 1981 Maryott Iris. I love this one because it is a bright beacon in the garden:
I love it that a cultivar that is 34 years old is still a treasure!!

The second one is a modern -- Broome Sunset, a Blyth Iris from 2008:

Well -- we sure did agree on that one. I don't know what I was thinking. Count me in anyway -- I'll either plant it for a earlier clump, or give it to my brother.

Neal--thank you for the blue doll photo post. The main photos in the computer here are seedlings. I need them in one place for study.

Tetraploid irises have 4 sets of chromozomes & diploids have 2 sets. We would not have all the lovely colors of tall bearded irises if they were not tets.
