Hello!
I've had my money tree since 2007. It has usually thrived. About a month ago, the main stalk completely died. Now the rest of it looks like it's dying. A picture is attached.

We live in NYC and it has been indoors by the window, where it is now cold. Since it has been struggling, I've moved it away from the cold and placed it under a plant light.

Any ideas what is wrong and how to save it?

Thanks!

is it possible that the tree got too much sun through the window and the leaves burned?

No, it was getting very little sun, so now it's under a plant lamp.

Welcome! How long has it been in that same pot and soil? Have you re-potted it recently?

The soil doesn't look happy in the photo - could the soil be holding too much moisture?
Maybe you need to re-pot the plant, paying special attention to getting the soil mix correct.

They're a tropical so I don't think too much sun could be an issue. It looks waterlogged to me also.

I fell in love with this one in Fort Lauderdale last June. The flowers are amazing and the pods are really interesting too. Hope you can find out the problem. I have a small seedling that I hope will do well.

Money Tree (Pachira aquatica) don't mind a lot of but the soil needs to be well draining. If the soil stays soggy the roots will surely rot.
