Wondering what your largest blossom has been.

Or any large-blossomed iris that comes to mind.

Probably my pale yellow Noid Louisiana. Blooms average 8 or more inches across without the falls flopping.

Of my TB's that have bloomed, I would say Slew O' Gold and Silverado had the largest blooms.

I ordered it from Wild Iris Rows, so Greg Hester is easy about changes in my order if you really have some to send me Tom! I had to substitute last year because of a couple I got from Greg (Misawa).

I know I can send at least a start, but they're under snow right now, so I don't know if I have more then one, but I'll have at least one for sure.

What surprised me about Poem of Ecstasy was the large number of its progeny - many greats among them.
I ordered it from Blue J.

Debra,
That big purple NOID looks like the one my mother had that I've been trying to duplicate.. Is it also fairly tall?

Sherry, I am still learning about Iris heights, but I'd say it is tall.

It multiplies like crazy. If you want some rhizomes, be happy to send them.

I don't think anyone would let a falcon sit on a unprotected hand.... ??? Maybe some would? The handlers I have seen keep leather protection on hands and arms and the birds are banded and have a place to snap a leash on their leg.

It's called chicken whispering Leslie Hilarious!
The two youngsters I have just started laying.. The eggs are small still, but blue! The ones I had before laid greenish eggs. My other two have started laying again too (brown eggs)..

Debra, YES! I'd love some!!
My mother would make these big dramatic arrangements on the grand piano.. When the Iris were in bloom, they'd be featured.. I've got the piano, but it's home to my 46 year old Spathiphyllum. Mom didn't do any gardening, so she had time to make arrangements every week. Hilarious!
