No, You can use your oven, You can just wipe it down. No special oven unless you just want one just for clay. I bake mine at 275 for each quarter inch of thickness. I have baked a lot of clay in my oven. It does have a slight smell, don't be surprized. You will love the pasta maker but only use it for clay. It conditions the clay , the clay needs to be conditioned before making into craft/ It mingles the plastics togeter in it so your pieces does what it is meant too.
